The Girls Hoops league will consist of participation in BOTH the Fall and Winter leagues at IYBL and MYT (or a Similar programs).
Brownsburg Girls Hoops Evaluations: The evaluations will be for placement with the Brownsburg Girls Hoops (Travel) program.
DATES: Basketball Camp for Skills development with Brownsburg High School team will be August 1, 3, 8, and 15th. Mandatory Evaluation days will be August 22nd and 24th. As of now, there is no gym space available on 10th or 17th, but we are still trying to add those dates if space opens up.
TIME: Grades 3-5 (5-6 pm) and Grades 6-8 (6-7 pm)
All girls interested in playing Brownsburg Girl's Travel Basketball (Hoops) in 3rd through 8th grade this Fall and Winter: the Brownsburg Girl's Varsity will be hosting a Skills and Developmental session in August at Brownsburg High School Varsity Fieldhouse. Team placement evaluations will take place the last week of August after the evaluation days have completed. The staff will be evaluating skill level and 5 vs. 5 play during these sessions for team placement for the upcoming Brownsburg girl's travel basketball season.
Practices and games are scheduled to begin in September and will run through early March for 3rd - 6th grades and through December for 7th and 8th grades. If there is enough interest in a 2nd grade team, we may form a second grade team that may compete in the third grade level.
· Dress in basketball attire. Bring clean shoes for the gym floor.
· The evaluations will be closed.
· A parent must accompany each player to register.
· Arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled workout time for paperwork.
· To be eligible to participate, the player must live in the Brownsburg school district or have a parent that works for the Brownsburg Community School Corporation. Home school or private school participants must bring a recent photo scanned or copy of their birth certificate (no original or loose photos will be accepted) and two (2) current utility bills for proof of address.
About Brownsburg Girls Hoops:
Brownsburg Girls Hoops is a competitive travel program governed by BJBL (Brownsburg Junior Basketball League). These teams are school based which means, players must reside in the Brownsburg school district or have a parent that works for the Brownsburg Community School Corporation. It is our goal to place girls on a competitive team based on their skill level. We plan to field 2 teams per grade level (depending on # of girls and skill level, a 3rd team may be considered). In the unfortunate event this cannot be accommodated due to various factors, ‘cuts’ may be necessary. A league official will notify you regarding selection status. The Girls Hoops program is available for players in 3rd grade through 8th grade. However, evaluations will be open to 2nd graders. One 2nd grade team may be selected only if the evaluators feel they are ready for this level of play. The 2nd grade team would be placed in a 3rd grade division since many leagues do not offer 2nd grade divisions.

Practice and Game Information:
Practices will begin the week of TBD. Each team will practice 2x per week for 1 ½ hours. The Girls Hoops league will consist of participation in a Saturday league (IYBL at Pacers Athletic Center in Westfield or similar facilities) and a Fall and Winter Sunday league through MYT (or a Similar program). • Saturday League (IYBL) game times will vary throughout the day. These are typically single games every Saturday but can be double headers depending on the schedule. Season dates TBD. • Sunday game times typically start no earlier than noon with the latest game typically starting at 5:30pm. Fall Season will run from September – mid November. Winter season will run December – late February for 2nd through 6th grade and late November until mid-December for 7th and 8th grade.
Expenses:
The cost for participation for each child 3rd grade through 6th Grade is $250 not including uniform. The cost of 7th and 8th grade is $150 not including uniform.
Mandatory Uniform Fees for this season are an additional $115. This price charged will be $90 to reflect the $25 tryout fee being applied to the uniform cost.
